Zoila & David’s Fort Bragg Wedding
Zoila and David met at church in Fort Bragg, where her father had been assigned as pastor. As their families became close friends, so did they — and after four years, their friendship blossomed into something more. When David proposed, it marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with faith, love, and deep connection. “I thank God every day for this new chapter,” Zoila shared.
They were married in mid-August on David’s family’s land, surrounded by majestic redwoods. The morning began with misty fog that burned off to reveal brilliant sunshine — a perfect metaphor for the day’s warmth and joy. Zoila got ready at her family’s home, helping her sisters with their hair and surrounded by loved ones. David prepared at his mother’s house, joined by close friends and Zoila’s little brother. The land, transformed by the family over many months, provided a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and celebration.
The wedding service was deeply emotional and conducted in Spanish with English translation. Led by two beloved pastors and accompanied by vibrant, high-energy music, the ceremony featured joyful participation from family and friends. Guests sang along, clapped, and even cried with hands on hearts.
Highlights included a cake-shaped piñata that spilled candy for the kids, and a spirited bouquet and boutonnière toss — each caught by a couple, perhaps signaling future vows to come. With nearly 300 guests, a live band, and a big wedding party, it was a day full of life and love.
